KiDSCo is a Bible-based Unit Study designed to empower the next generation of entrepreneurs in building a family legacy. It is a home business curriculum for kids that lays the foundation and provides the philosophy, spirit, vision and means for building a successful family business. It is that first step in putting into action the development of a vision for your family. Families need to develop a vision for freedom and a vision that ultimately grows into a multi-generational vision.
KiDSCo is for kids and therefore starts small and simple on a level that they can understand (children as young as six have made money using KiDSCo). Then they and the whole family build on it. If moms and dads have no business background they can learn right along with the kids. KiDSCo is designed for the home and therefore it is perfect for the homeschool. The parents are there as teachers, guides and coaches. It is completely flexible and allows the parents to work with their children of their own rate, ability and interest. The beauty of learning is being able to apply your knowledge in the real world, not just repeat facts and pass tests. With KiDSCo the children do the work. They run the business. The parents oversee it.
KiDSCo draws upon the solid foundation of God’s Word and builds a healthy view of work, money, success and motivation. KiDSCo is available as a downloadable ebook and includes a complete curriculum guide and detailed lesson plans to be used with your family.
Lesson material includes:
WISDOM WORDS, a Bible memory program on topics like stewardship, service, doing your best, diligence, perseverance, planning, tithing, reputation, charity, and wisdom.
WISDOM LESSONS reinforce the Wisdom Words verses with practical applications.
A WISDOM JOURNAL encourages daily reading from the Book of Proverbs and keeping a journal record of the applications of its God-given principles to the business.
An INITIATIVE section teaches attitudes necessary for resourcefulness and internal motivation. How we view God, ourselves, others, rewards and the future affects how we work. Scripture, especially Proverbs, reinforces the student’s Wisdom Journal gleanings.
The SKILLS section teaches business start-up, customers, record keeping, planning, using incentives and includes the needed worksheets and templates.
The ECONOMICS section teaches how the marketplace works. What is money? Where did it come from? How has it changed? What about banks? How has the United States used money?
This curriculum is not intended to be a sterile, theoretical study in business. The best way to learn the principles is to actually apply them in a real business. Learning how to plan, organize, keep records and use money is a lot different in practice than in theory.
As your child grows his business the whole family can become involved to whatever degree is convenient and comfortable – in the same business, or multiple businesses. And when a business is mobile, the effort expended in one location is not lost if one moves. It becomes ideal for children as they grow up, leaving the home to establish their own families. Besides taking with them the business skills they have learned, they can take the business, too! This will provide that second income without outside-the-home employment, allowing them to continue the tradition of homeschooling you have started. Can you think of a more valuable legacy that you can give to your children than a business that will allow them to continue the traditions that you have started, and the spiritual, moral, and family values that go along with them?
KiDSCo has the potential for strengthening these family bonds by creating a common business interest and relationship between parents and children and siblings. This is not only valuable for creating cross-generational solidarity, but also spiritual and economic influence far beyond your family.
As people asked Kevin Swanson, “Are you a one income family, or a two income family?” He responded, “I’m a seven-income family!” KiDSCo is a good place to start to develop a vision for your family that may ultimately grow into a multigenerational vision.
It is hard to tell what exactly the book(s?) is/are that you are selling and how to buy them. Is KIDSCo something different from Kids Business Ideas? I see how to order Kids Business Ideas for $9.99, but I don’t see how to order KIDSCO or even tell what exactly it is. Also, it looks like even though Kids Business Ideas is pictured as a book, it is actually a 50-page download we would receive for $9.99?
